Breaking In

In this cosy house lived a friendly woman from the time she was married in the 40's until late 2012.

She left this earthly world peacefully earlier this year. A sales sign came up. A sold sign was pasted on it. 

The new owners bought the land, not a home. Machinery started to show up and the once a peaceful lady's home started to disintegrate.

One fall evening, the house, with its open doors and junk thrown out in the yard, was just looking for some tender loving care. In I went...

  

The kitchen cabinets were untouched and all its contents scheduled for burial under the destruction.

But among them were those three recipe boxes filled with hand written recipes and magazine cut ones. A treasure that no old lady's family member nor new house owners seem to appreciate.



This is the fate of the house now.

And this is the fate of the recipe boxes, safe on my bookshelves.
