I was not sure whether it was brunch or dinner I had today looking at those clocks, but no matter what it was, it was a fun time with decent food at De Dutch Pannekoek House.
The story of the place and John Dys who started it in 1975 is an interesting read (click Our Story on their website).
With close to 20 locations in the Lower Mainland, De Dutch seems to still be going strong, even though their menu is becoming more mainstream than simply Pannekoeks as I recall it.
Avocado seems to be the theme at De Dutch these days with multiple options incorporating avocados.
My platter was colourful and tasty enough, but I have to say the quality of those avocados were not the best (they had a genetically modified bland taste).
With three pleasant, well brought up kids surrounding me, the kid's menus had more interesting items than those of adults.
Why is it that restaurants do not allow adults to have a kid's menu item I wonder?
