A Last Kaiss With Parents

A perfect parents' visit and a perfect delicious "Kaiss".

This "Kaiss" included two delicious items that turned the "Kaiss" into a "Kaiss-Dinner" combo.

The first item is a big platter of humus; covered with hot ground beef and fried pine nuts. This combination takes humus to much higher levels.

The second item is Fatoush - the freshness of Fatoush along with the sourness of its sumaq and lemon juice makes it a great accompaniment to both the Kaiss and the humus with meat platter.

Another perfect accompaniment to these "Kaiss" items is radish.

Lebanese have a strong fondness for radishes. They go well with specific dishes (read Mom's Riz-b-Tfeen).

They are crunched whole, peeled and eaten along with food, cut into flowery shapes, and the list goes on and on.

My favourite way of eating radishes remains to eat it whole, along with the leaves, stems and peel.

Radishes go exceptionally well with the humus and meat/pine nuts and are key ingredient in fatoush.

And definitely go well with any "Kaiss".
