Who else can take an inspiration from a calendar menu and create those so-tasty salmon cutlets.
Baked salmon mixed with onions, green chillies, coriander, ginger and garlic; coated with panko and eggs, grilled and served with strawberries and yu choy.
To hear the stories of what was used to make dinner was like a trip in time. This granite mortar, a family gift, has been accumulating flavour for decades as it gets hollower over time.
Crushed spices made a coconut based Southern India style Mung Dal and Indian Okra with onions and mustard seeds; served with chapati.
I am so honoured to learn more about Indian food from you dear lovely neighbour.
My learning also included a tour of cookbooks with this treasure of a book including stories about Indian food cooking and an abundance of recipes. I wish I could have the courage to cook Indian food for you.
The learning included a trio of pickles to go with the meal: Mango pickles; excellent. Eggplant pickles (more like a spicy eggplant jam) was a novelty not to be missed and dinner was spiced up further with Indonesian hot chilli sauce.
Thank you dear lovely neighbour.
