Tolerable Room Service Food

At last, hotel room service dining that is tolerable enough to eat and blog about.

FIRST NIGHT - LATE ARRIVAL, HUNGRY

Menu listed this dish as Roasted Eggplants, hotel operator described it as eggplant lasagna, but what it turned out to be was oily roasted (or were they really fried?) eggplants baked in a tomato sauce and covered with tons of mozzarella cheese. Some spinach and mushrooms were thrown into the mix, but you could hardly see them and definitely could not taste them.

The salad sort of saved the meal. Arugula salad with rye croutons, mangoes and blue cheese and lemon-poppies dressing. Not bad.

SECOND NIGHT - LONG DAY AT WORK, TOO COLD OUTSIDE

I was too tired and homesick to experiment tonight so I opted for simplicity. A tomato basil pizza and romaine lettuce salad.

The pizza was alright, but the salad, with freshly made rye croutons and shaved cheese, was actually very tasty. I should have stuck to salads every night.
