Lent Dessert


So glad I found you Strawberry Cream Roll. I stumbled upon you at Urban Fair, you looked so yummy, creamy, and I just wanted you.






But then lent interfered (see somervillekitchen lent); can I really eat this? Let us check the ingredients:

- no mentions of cream or butter; CHECK
- no mentions of eggs, except for dry egg white; CHECK
- over 20 chemical ingredients that I cannot even pronounce ; HMMM

The cream filling is made of sugar, oil, water, guar gum, salt, polysorbate 60 (whatever that is) and artificial flavouring, probably healthier than anything else in this cake. Well, strong craving was satisfied and it looked like a real cake (but nowhere near an Anita Cake of course - now those I miss!).
