Make Your Own Chicken Shawarma

One of the food options at the team event yesterday was Shawarma (see We Ate All We Can Eat). Between us, I had my heart set on Shawarma. So tonight I made my own Chicken Shawarma to eat in le jardin. Here is the recipe for all to try.

First slice chicken pieces into very thin slices (1/8 inch thickness, ideally).

Marinate the chicken for a minimum of an hour in a paste made of:

- crushed garlic
- dried oregano
- olive oil
- a bit of mustard
- a bit of ketchup
- a bit of mayonnaise

Don't over do it with the condiments; just a bit to bring out the flavours and create a creamy texture for the marinade.

Now grill the chicken on a hot griddle until cooked. Make it into your own sandwich with tahini sauce, humus, pickles, or whatever you ask your favourite Chicken Shawarma stand to put in your sandwich.

 Enjoy!

Ok, testing:

M, your marinade has mustard twice....but what is that white-ish squidgey blob at 4 pm??

My mouth is watering....and I can't remember the smart-alecky other comment I had yesterday....sigh ~T.E.~

Thank you T.E. the blob is mayonnaise and that is what I needed to replace the second reference of mustard

Glad you caught, smart...thanks
