A Long Day At Work

Arriving at the office by 6:30 a.m. made it way too early to have breakfast before the work day kicked off. At 10:30 a.m., a belated Christmas gift from a supplier shows up. Those cookies made for a delicious breakfast (specially those stars)...

Business lunch was at Herons West Coast Kitchen + Bar at the Fairmont Waterfront (900 Canada Place, Vancouver, BC).

Beautiful sunny day, window seat, pleasant conversation and one of the more interesting hotel menus in the city.

One of the options was a raw vegan Zucchini Noodles. Shredded zucchini with pine nuts, pesto, lemon and oil. A dear friend of mine is raw vegan and I wanted to try this as a tribute to her.

It was simply delicious - healthy, filling and the fact that it was room temperature did not make it less appealing at all. Will be back for more.

Herons Restaurant and Lounge (The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel) on Urbanspoon

At 2:00 p.m., it was time to do some work. Taste test a product to familiarize ourselves with it - Nature's Path Pumpkin N Spice Flax Plus granola bar - filling, sweet, chewy.
By 5:45 p.m., the Christmas goodies were disappearing fast, with me partially responsible, so it was time to leave the office.
Too tired to think about cooking, a detour to Green Lemongrass (1086 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC) happened naturally on the way home.
While I typically have their beef satay, tonight I was in an experimental mood and ordered the lemongrass chicken on rice - fresh, filling, but not as good as my favourite satays.
By now, I have been out of the house eating for close to 14 hours, so time to go home. Kermit was so excited to be heading home too.
