As you have probably read last month (Read Here), somerville kitchen will be representing Lebanon in the annual Joy of Feeding fund raiser for UBC Farm, celebrating food and culture.
Book the date, June 30 2013 and join somerville kitchen and a dozen other cooks featuring their favourite foods of their mother countries.
As a preview of the event, all cooks made their dishes for a fun potluck taster hosted at Vij's. And what a preview this was.
Hopefully this feature will tempt you to book the date - June 30, 2013.
From Lebanon; Meghli - a Lebanese spice pudding covered with coconut and a variety of nuts.
From Turkey; Red Lentils Kofta - soft textured and nicely spiced that you wrap in lettuce and eat cold.
From Scotland; Shortbread cookies served out of an antique Scottish cookies tin.
From Columbia; Ajiaco - simple but delicious chicken, corn and potato light stew with a secret Columbian herb.
From French Canada; an authentic sugar pudding - sweet, thick and filling.
From Fiji; Aloo and Long Beans - a perfectly spiced vegetarian dish.
Tempted enough? Then do two things: (a) Tune back tomorrow for the rest of the preview and (b) book the date June 30, 2013.
