What's Grown in Northern Saskatchewan?

The best naturally grown wild rice; and you can sure tell the difference.

And a package of brown rice comes with a small recipe book from which I am sharing this recipe.

Cook 1.5 cups wild rice and put aside.

Brown meat or chicken in butter and set aside.

In same pan, stir fry 1 diced onion, 1 diced green pepper, 3 cups sliced mushrooms and 0.75 cup diced celery.

Toss in the cooked rice.

Add the meat, 1 cup peas and 0.25 cup Soya sauce, chicken broth or vegetable broth.

Mix and heat over medium heat for 6 - 8 minutes and enjoy.

My friends in Saskatchewan will be so proud of me - served at somerville kitchen with a cheese and spinach roll as well as a spread of cheese and bread.

Try it, but only with Saskatchewan grown brown rice.
