Let Lent Begin

Remember the Colcannon story?  (Read Anyone knows what Colcannon is?) Leftovers (with bacon in them) were turned into patties and grilled (delicious). Good bye bacon for 40 days...


The same cookbook where the Colcannon recipe came from - Out of Old Saskatchewan Kitchens) - came one of the better recipes for a mock cabbage rolls. Good bye beef for 40 days...


But that same book has a good selection of lent appropriate recipes, including a simple and amazingly tasty potato carrot beet salad.


I will be best buddies with vegetables over the next 40 days...
