Les vacances seemed to be a perfect time to play the game again. As the snow peas were growing out of their trellis, the game of the day was how many snow peas can each pick before the whole structure falls over.
Last game's winner became this game's loser. Score 22 to 37. Ouch!
On a vacances schedule, a new and improved trellis was built. The whole process was very biblical; with all these pieces of wood crossing each other and banging of nails to hold them up.
While the sun still in the middle of the sky, we had the snow peas sturdy enough to resume the game.
But first, cats had to do the safety inspection.
Cats was satisfied no disaster is going to happen when the game resumed. While he was at it, he made up the rules for the second round.
Meow mewow meyu meow meemeow
(Translation - pick only ones that are over 2 inches long but not too fat that they won't cook well).
When all qualified snow peas were picked, each bowl had exactly 54. While this was a low probability coincidence on its own, 54+54 = 108, which is a miraculous, religious number (see wikipideia 108 (number)). I call it the miracle of the snow peas trellis, a.k.a. बर्फ मटर सलाखें का चमत्कार.
Despite their miraculous nature, some were cooked with chicken over pasta and garlic bread.
Some were packed tight and stored in the fridge for another meal.
Some were munched on right there and then.
But cats had eyes for the chicken only. For him; snow peas are for animals, not cats.
