Mornings with Paul

Hidden along the elegant Granville Street south, just south of the bridge, is a regular haunt for morning work breakfasts called Paul's Place Omelettery.

Never line-ups but always busy, quiet but not boring, and very welcoming.

It is open 7 - 3 daily and serves not only breakfast, but lunch all day. Huge breakfast selection as well as a variety of burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches, yet no where as greasy or heavy as any other breakfast places in the city.

And they make excellent egg white omelette, unlike many other places (read more at Egg White Omelettes).

Today's omelette choice was the vegetarian one. Generous stuffing of zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach and asparagus that are not overcooked, retaining their fresh taste. Add to that three cheeses and you have a perfect omelette that, despite its size, does not feel heavily filling.

It also helps staying light that the platter does not come packed with fried potatoes.

So next time you are feeling like a quality breakfast, Paul's Place Omelettery should be your first choice.
