Vegan Adventures Continue

Another lent adventure began tonight with Mazola.

At home, we call this dinner 'this & that'. In a less mysterious description, it is deep fried 'this & that'.

And 'this & that' references all sorts of vegetables that you deep fry (well not all sorts, but specifically eggplant, zucchini, cauliflower and potatoes).

Yes, it is heavy and oily, but the Mazola clearly says Cholesterol Free and the meal is still defined as a healthy vegan alternative.

Now the important thing is not to fry them all together. One vegetable at a time. My mother may have different order of events, but I start with cauliflower, then zucchini then eggplants. 

Meanwhile, the potatoes are fried in their own separate oil (you cannot mess up the delicious taste of somerville kitchen French fries with zucchini-eggplant flavoured oil).

And pig out on 'this & that' with pita bread and humus. Yes, it is one of my favourite meals and one that reminds me of my favourite aunt.
