Cazba Express

A year ago I tried Cazba in North Vancouver (Read Dining Iranian Style).

Tonight I discovered the new Cazba on Davie & Thurlow street.

Not as fancy as the one in North Vancouver, nor is it packed with Iranians as the one in North Vancouver, but the food is authentic, relatively cheap and worth the visit.

Very hungry trio went wild on the order, covering a wide range of Iranian specialties.

A starter of crunchy Iranian rice covered Gheymeh Stew.

I have tried Gheymeh at Zeitoon in the West end. That was a more sophisticated version of the one at Cazba.

Two stews:

Ghormeh Sabzi; good, but nothing compared to the home made ones.

Fesenjoon; pomegranate and walnuts chicken stew with a unique nice taste, albeit little chicken.

And, of course, endless pounds of Iranian rice that came with the stews.

Meanwhile, the trout was a special dish that is supposed to be served with dill rice, not the saffron one in the picture.

We ate and ate, a pleasant dinner and a restaurant worth the visit.
