(See full feast at Indonesia For Few Days)
Today's recipe is for a Spiced Cauliflower Braise.
Trim one cauliflower into small florets and chop 2 medium tomatoes.
Now prepare a paste by grinding:
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- 1 fresh green chili
- 0.5 Tbsp turmeric
- 0.5 tsp shrimp paste
Heat up sunflower oil. Fry the spice paste until onions are brown. Add cauliflower, 1 can coconut milk, 1 cup water and 1 Tsp sugar.
Simmer for 5 minutes then add the tomatoes and 1 Tsp tamarind pulp (I used ketchup and lime juice as a replacement). Simmer for 2 more minutes and serve.
Give it a try and let me know how it turns out.
